Overview of Rotary Furnace Equipment:
In the aluminum and recycled aluminum industry, aluminum ingots and scrap aluminum are melted in the melting furnace to produce aluminum water and a certain amount of aluminum ash. Generally speaking, the yield of aluminum from the furnace is roughly between 88% and 92% depending on the type of waste. A considerable amount of aluminum is trapped in the aluminum ash, and the aluminum content of the aluminum ash raked out of the furnace is between 40-60%. For the recycling equipment of aluminum slag treatment, there are generally several types of equipment such as crucibles, vertical ash stir fry machines, and rotary furnaces.
Crucibles have low investment and simple operation, and are widely used in small-scale manufacturers. However, the drawbacks are very obvious, mainly including the following points: 1. High labor intensity, because the furnace capacity is small, the ash roasting efficiency is low, and a large number of personnel must be increased to handle large quantities of aluminum ash. 2. The recycling cost is high, and processing aluminum slag requires consumables such as crucibles, coke, and heating agents. 3. Full manual operation with uncontrollable recovery rate. 4. Environmental protection standards are not met because there are numerous crucibles that are difficult to concentrate on environmental protection equipment, resulting in dust flying around and workers' health not being guaranteed. At the same time, pollution to the workshop and surrounding environment has been explicitly prohibited by the Environmental Protection Bureau.
The vertical ash stir fry machine is one step ahead of the crucible ash stir fry machine, using mechanized operation. However, due to its small processing capacity (200-300KG per pot), a large number of ash stir fry machines are also required for large-scale processing of hot slag. Also, due to its small processing capacity, it can only handle hot slag and cannot handle cold slag. At the same time, when processing aluminum slag with high iron content, iron blocks, bolts, steel bars, etc. often get stuck in the gap between the pot and the paddle, causing equipment failure.
The rotary furnace is suitable for large-scale processing of hot slag, cold slag, and aluminum slag containing high-speed rail. The personnel configuration is small, only one skilled forklift operator and one auxiliary worker are needed, which can handle several tons to tens of tons of hot and cold aluminum slag per day, with extremely high work efficiency. The hot slag scraped out of the furnace is fed into the rotary furnace by a rotating forklift. By using the reverse rotation of the rotary furnace and the forward and backward stirring of the forklift rake, the aluminum water in the aluminum slag can be separated. During the operation, attention should be paid to controlling the temperature, and cold slag or small raw aluminum can be added as temperature controllers and secondary refining. After processing, tilt and lift the rotary furnace barrel with a hydraulic cylinder to pour out the aluminum water. After pouring the aluminum water, rotate the barrel to unload the ash, making the operation simple and convenient. The aluminum water recovery rate in aluminum slag reaches over 80%. If used in conjunction with a screening type cold ash bucket, the comprehensive recovery rate can reach over 90%. Rotary furnaces and screening type cold ash buckets are ideal equipment for large-scale processing of aluminum slag and cold slag, replacing crucibles and vertical ash stir fry machines.
The rotary furnace does not require heating devices for processing both hot and cold slag, especially for processing cold slag. Only one bucket of hot slag from the furnace is needed for continuous operation and processing. The operation process does not require additional energy consumption except for the electrical energy generated by the equipment. Due to the centralized processing, the generated dust is easy to collect, truly achieving energy conservation and environmental protection.
